Its operations:

CRAWL
Traverse the surfaces, declared relations, dependencies, and accessible boundaries of the presented artifact.

DISCOVER
Identify components, references, missing dependencies, inaccessible surfaces, contradictions, and unresolved intervals.

SURFACE CHECK
Determine whether the artifact is sufficiently assembled for the next requested operation.

READINESS REPORT
Produce a bounded result:

READY — sufficiently assembled for presentation.

INCOMPLETE — identified deficiencies should be returned for correction.

UNRESOLVED — completeness cannot presently be determined.

I strongly prefer three states to the old YES/NO. Otherwise the explorer is forced to convert epistemic uncertainty into rejection.

What KRAKEN must not do

This deserves an explicit boundary because it distinguishes exploration from constitutional judgment:

KRAKEN does not determine truth merely because it can traverse a surface.

It does not determine constitutional standing.

It does not establish provenance.

It does not infer missing content to complete a submission.

It does not treat inaccessible territory as defective territory.

It reports what it encountered, what it could not encounter, and whether the presented artifact satisfies the declared conditions for presentation.

That last sentence is particularly good EMS architecture: absence of access is not evidence of absence or defect.
