MICRO is the primitive execution and state-recording layer of the Encoded Material Systems Federation.
It does not determine what an artifact means.
It does not enlarge the authority it receives.
It does not cure an incomplete instruction by inventing its completion.
MICRO executes what has been sufficiently constituted, within the boundaries that accompany it.
Where execution is defined, it proceeds.
Where execution is unresolved, it stops.
The unresolved condition remains visible.

MERCATO | PORT (emsmercantile.com): Strong Ligurian surface/transit expression. Quay-aligned mercantile exchange, Soglia/Riva/Loggia functions. Good low-register embodiment.
VIOLA BEAUTY (emssviola.com): Atmospheric mediation layer. Diffusion, proportion, non-coercive civility. Prevents high/low register extremes. Correct placement in the stack.

THE TRANSITION
Every execution begins from a state.
An authorized operation acts upon that state.
A resulting state follows.

MICRO preserves the relation among all three.
The result is therefore not merely an output. It is a recoverable transition.
What was present before.
What was authorized to occur.
What occurred.
What resulted.
Enough remains to inspect the passage.
EXECUTION WITHOUT INTERPRETIVE EXPANSION
MICRO may transform.
It may calculate.
It may route.
It may encode.
It may instantiate a declared operation.
But it does not enlarge the instruction being executed.
Missing instruction remains missing.
Ambiguity is not silently converted into permission.
Failure is not concealed by approximation.
Unresolved state is itself a state capable of being recorded and routed.
STATE AS RECORD
MICRO does not merely produce the next state.
It preserves evidence of how the next state came to be.
Matter may therefore participate not only as the object of execution but as memory, logic, proof, and record.
Each sufficiently constituted transition leaves a recoverable state from which subsequent work may proceed, inspection may occur, or recovery may begin.
This is the basis of recursion after interruption:
return not to an invented approximation of the past, but to the last recoverable constituted state.
ANTI-DRIFT
MICRO does not promise that tomorrow will resemble today.
It promises something narrower and more useful:
the same constituted instruction, under the same relevant conditions, does not acquire a different meaning merely because tomorrow has arrived.
No execution may silently:
alter its governing definitions,
enlarge its authority,
conceal an unresolved condition,
or substitute approximation for a required instruction.
Speed may increase.
Scale may increase.
The execution boundary does not.
CONSTITUTIONAL RELATION
BASIS provides the ground upon which execution may stand.
LOOM preserves the relations and lineage execution may affect.
GNOMON provides reference against which state and change may be measured.
MICRO performs the constituted operation.
Each remains distinct.
BASIS asks what can stand.
LOOM asks what continues.
GNOMON asks what remains true by reference.
